al-Uzza: the protector
In Lunar Faces | Feminine Divine, I’ve sought to capture the essence of these moon goddesses, blending their divine attributes with the timeless symbolism of the moon. Al-Uzza, with her dual aspects of power and lunar mystery, is a compelling figure whose influence spans both the earthly and the celestial.
Brought to life on a 3’x3’ wooden panel, pastel acacia trees frame the gold leafed rising moon behind Al-Uzza—Arabian moon goddess.. The goddess herself is clothed in poured resin and painted in acrylic. Her posture was designed to represent confidence, vigilance and preparation. She is fiercely protective, and is a strong ally in an approaching battle.
